Job Description

The Field Extension Workers will implement agricultural extension activities under the BRIGHT project. They will work closely with smallholder farmers to organize them into project villages, deliver training sessions on agronomy, nutrition, gender, and sustainable land use, manage demonstration plots, and support data entry and reporting. The extension workers will act as a vital link between the project and the local farming communities to ensure successful program delivery.

How to Apply

  • Mobilize and organize farmers into project villages.

  • Conduct Participatory Integrated Planning (PIP) sessions.

  • Register farmers and support cascade training for household generations.

  • Provide agronomy and nutrition training, farm visits, and demonstration plot support.

  • Offer input and output market linkages.

  • Identify and mitigate potential project risks.

  • Collect and enter data into the project’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system.

  • Collaborate with local partners, stakeholders, and farmer innovators.

  • Provide technical backstopping to local support teams.

  • A Diploma or Certificate in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Forestry, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in farmer training and community mobilization.

  • Strong passion and competence in extension work.

  • Must be a resident of the operational area, fluent in the local language, and knowledgeable about the local context.

  • Willingness and ability to work in rural areas for extended periods.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
