Job Description
The Field Engagement Officer will be responsible for engaging with local communities to support the execution of project activities. The role includes mobilizing participants, conducting training and focus group discussions, collecting feedback, and documenting successes and challenges encountered in the field. The officer will also coordinate closely with Project Coordinators and Monitoring & Evaluation Officers to ensure community participation is well-integrated into all stages of the project cycle. The successful candidate will have a strong background in community work, excellent communication skills, and the ability to connect with diverse community groups.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Mobilize and engage community members in project activities
Facilitate and support training sessions, workshops, and focus group discussions
Gather community feedback to support project monitoring and evaluation
Document field activities, lessons learned, and success stories
Collaborate with Project Coordinators and M&E Officers to align field engagement with project objectives
Represent the organization professionally and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Diploma or Degree in Community Development, Social Work, Sociology, or a related field
Practical experience in community engagement or fieldwork
Strong facilitation, interpersonal, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Fluency in local languages is an added advantage
Willingness to travel and work in the field regularly
