Climate Smart Jobs (CSJ) Programme – Component 1

Job Description

The Data Collectors will work closely with CSJ’s Evaluation, Research, and Learning (ERL) team to support regular and ad hoc data collection activities. The role involves collecting accurate, high-quality data using mobile devices or paper tools, ensuring compliance with CSJ’s data assurance protocols, and uploading data into CSJ’s Management Information System. Data Collectors will also maintain project equipment, manage field expenses, and provide timely feedback on survey progress. This role is critical in enabling adaptive program management and informing strategy through reliable data.

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a development-related field (final year students may apply).

  • Familiarity with Northern Uganda and refugee contexts is essential.

  • Strong English communication skills.

  • Fluency in at least one local language such as Lugbara, Alur, Acholi, Lango, Madi, Arabic, Kuku, or Dinka.

  • Experience with digital data collection tools (smartphones or tablets).

  • Competencies: adaptability, determination, innovation, teamwork, and political awareness.
