Job Summary: The Uganda National Association of Builders, Suppliers and Engineering Contractors (UNABSEC) seeks to recruit a qualified, competent and visionary Executive Director to lead the organization in achieving its mission and strategic objectives. The Executive Director will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, resource mobilization and operational management of the Association.
Objective: The objective of this recruiting is to identify and appoint a highly skilled individual who will provide strong leadership, foster institutional growth, and ensure the effective implementation of UNABSEC’s policies, programs and activities

How to Apply
The Executive Director shall be responsible for:
Providing strategic leadership and direction to UNABSEC in line with its vision, mission and core values.
Overseeing the implementation of the Association’s strategic plan, programs, and activities.
Serve as the primary accounting officer of the association, ensuring proper financial management in line with policies and procedures.
Act as the key liaison between the UNABSEC Board of Directors and the Secretariat, ensuring effective communication and implementation of directives.
Engaging with key stakeholders, including government agencies, development partners, contractors, and suppliers, to advocate for the interests of the Association.
Ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements relevant to the Association.
Ensuring financial sustainability through effective resource mobilization and prudent financial management.
Oversee the execution of decisions made by the UNABSEC Board of Directors, ensuring full alignment with the association’s goals and strategies.
Overseeing administrative functions, staff management, and institutional development.
Subject to Board Executive Committee approval, manage all aspects of staff employment, including hiring, termination, duties, titles, and compensation in accordance with employment laws and the HR manual.
Enhancing the visibility and reputation of UNABSEC through effective communication and networking.
Perform any additional roles as delegated by the Board Executive Committee and UNABSEC Board of Directors.
Reporting to the Board Executive and implementing Board’s decisions and policies effectively.
The ideal candidate must have:
A Bachelors degree in business or management related courses. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Proven experience in senior management within a similar or larger member-based organization.
Strong leadership, budget management, marketing, and fundraising expertise.
3 years and above at management level or supervisory role.
The ideal candidate must have the following personal skills:
Proficient in computer use.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Proven track record in working effectively with a Board of Directors.
Dynamic, charismatic team player with exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
Strong lobbying and advocacy skills.
Creative and problem solving skills.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
