A successful applicant will serve as the Head of the Public Agricultural Research Institute (PARI) and will be responsible for providing professional, technical, and administrative leadership necessary for implementing the institute mandate.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Required Academic Qualifications and Experience:
Interested candidates should meet the following conditions:
Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural sciences, livestock production, fisheries sciences or rural development. A PhD in the field of either Agriculture, livestock production, fisheries, Forestry, Rural Development and Natural Resources.
At least 10 years' experience in either agricultural research planning or management from an Agricultural Research Institution. Equivalent experience obtained from a related institution is acceptable.
A proven record in research evidenced by at least twenty (20) peer-reviewed publications, with at least five publications in the last five years. Demonstrated experience in mobili ing funding for research and development.
Must have served in research, academic or related reputable research institution at a Principal Research/ Management level and above.
Tenure of Office:
Five years' contract renewable once subject to satisfactory performance.
Age limit.
Not above 55 years for external applicants and 60 years for internal candidates
