Position: Data Entrant

Project: R4iCSA II – Reduce-Reuse-Recycle Rice Initiative for Climate Smart Agriculture
Duration: 2 Months (Starting August 2025)
About the Role
Kilimo Trust is seeking a Data Entrant to support data entry efforts for the R4iCSA II Project, a climate-smart agriculture initiative funded by the IKEA Foundation and implemented in Uganda and Kenya. In Uganda, the project operates in Tororo, Butaleja, and Kween Districts.
The primary objective of this short-term role is to create a comprehensive and accurate database of farmers trained in Sustainable Rice Production (SRP) and those adopting SRP practices.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Enter data for farmers trained under the SRP component.
Record details of adopters of the Reduce–Reuse–Recycle–Rice (R-L-I) practices.
Cross-verify and validate data for accuracy and completeness.
Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive farmer information.
Work with field teams to fill in data gaps or correct inconsistencies.
Update database regularly to reflect changes in farmers' profiles.
Follow strict data protection and privacy standards.
Report any data security issues immediately to the supervisor.
Submit weekly progress updates and a comprehensive monthly report.
Support the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team in data management tasks.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Diploma in Agriculture, ICT, Data Management, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree is an added advantage).
At least 1 year of experience in agricultural extension, MEL, data entry, or surveys.
Proficient in data management and use of digital tools.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to interpret and input technical data with clarity.
Good report writing and organizational skills.

Start Date: 1st Week of August 2025
Duration: 2 months
