Job Description
Vanguard Economics is hiring qualified and motivated part-time Data Collectors to join its talent pool under the Data Collector Certification Programme. Successful candidates will play a key role in gathering accurate, reliable, and ethical data across Uganda, contributing to impactful research and policy advisory services.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Accurate and timely data collection through approved methods.
Ensuring ethical standards in engaging with respondents.
Using digital data collection platforms to submit data.
Reporting challenges and inconsistencies during data collection.
Protecting confidentiality of collected data.
Participating in training sessions and pre-fieldwork pilots.
Supporting effective fieldwork operations through teamwork.
Upholding Vanguard’s values and project standards.
Performing any other related fieldwork tasks assigned.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Statistics, Development Studies, Mathematics, or related fields.
Experience:
Previous field data collection experience in rural and/or urban settings is an added advantage.
Language Proficiency:
Fluent in English (read, write, speak) and at least one local Ugandan language.
Other Requirements:
Willingness to travel extensively.
Ability to participate in data collection training and pilots.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Ugandan national or legally authorized to work in Uganda.
