The organisation is developing a recruitment database for community workers of candidates across the country for an International NGO for child development in their operational regions which are; Central, Northern, Western, Eastern Uganda, as well as the Karamoja sub-region.

Job Description
As a Data Collector, you will play a pivotal role in collecting primary data from affected populations to support emergency response and recovery programs. You will use digital or manual tools to carry out structured interviews, focus group discussions, and observational assessments in the field. The role requires a high level of integrity, attention to detail, and respectful community engagement to ensure the data gathered is of the highest quality.
You will also be responsible for ensuring confidentiality and informed consent throughout the data collection process and for promptly reporting protection concerns or community feedback. Additionally, you will participate in team briefings and submit timely, accurate reports to support the organization's monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL) processes.

How to Apply
Conduct household surveys, focus group discussions, key informant interviews, and direct observations in communities affected by emergencies
Use digital tools such as KoboToolbox, ODK, or CommCare, or paper-based forms for data entry
Ensure all data collection adheres to sampling protocols and MEAL team guidance
Engage communities respectfully, obtain informed consent, and uphold confidentiality
Identify and report protection concerns or community feedback to supervisors
Review data for completeness, consistency, and accuracy before submission
Participate in daily briefings and submit data collection tools on time
Share insights and observations to aid program improvement
At least 1–3 years of experience in field-based data collection
Familiarity with digital data collection platforms (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK, CommCare)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and within a team
Demonstrated sensitivity to vulnerable populations and cultural dynamics
Knowledge of ethical standards in humanitarian data collection
Fluency in local languages is an added advantage
