Light for Disability Transformation (LIDIT)
Job Description
The Data Collectors will play a key role in gathering household-level data on disability inclusion using LIDIT’s Household Inclusion Framework (LHIF). The role requires sign language proficiency and strong interpersonal skills to engage with deaf and non-deaf household members respectfully. The data collected will inform tailored interventions under the HEARD Project, a 10-month initiative aimed at empowering families of deaf children through psychosocial support and inclusive care.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Administer the LHIF tool to 50 selected households.
Collect accurate, respectful, and confidential household-level data on disability inclusion.
Identify 30 eligible households for deeper participation in the HEARD project.
Submit daily reports and updates to the project team.
Uphold ethical, inclusive, and culturally appropriate engagement throughout the assignment.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Minimum Requirements:
Proficiency in Uganda Sign Language (USL) – Mandatory requirement
Certificate or Diploma in Social Sciences, Community Development, Special Needs Education, Public Health, or a related field.
Prior experience in data collection, field research, or community surveys.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to speak local languages used in Koboko Municipality is an added advantage.
Knowledge and understanding of disability rights and inclusive development principles.
