Credit Relationship Officer – Numida (Kampala, Uganda)
Position: Credit Relationship Officer
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Expected Start Date: November 17, 2025

Reports to: Credit Team Leader
About the Role
The Credit Relationship Officer (CRO) is responsible for evaluating loan applications, assessing creditworthiness, managing a portfolio of borrowers, and ensuring compliance with Numida’s lending policies and procedures. The CRO plays a critical role in maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring timely repayments, and driving business growth.

Conduct due diligence interviews with new and repeat loan applicants via phone.
Perform financial analysis to assess borrowers’ business performance and repayment capacity.
Prepare and present supported recommendations to the Credit Committee for loan approvals.
Manage loan collections, ensuring timely repayments and following escalation procedures for delinquent borrowers.

Conduct referral calls to generate new business leads.
Support the Product team by participating in product and service improvement experiments.
Handle inbound customer service inquiries via phone and WhatsApp, resolving issues or escalating them appropriately.
Conduct periodic field visits to monitor clients and support collections efforts.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in Numida’s CRM system.
Ensure high-quality customer service and uphold Numida’s professional and ethical standards.
Stay informed about all Numida financial products and services to provide accurate information to clients.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Microfinance, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a credit officer or similar role.
Strong computer and mobile technology skills (Google Drive, Sheets, Docs, and Android apps).
Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Swahili (knowledge of additional local languages is an advantage).
Proven ability to deliver excellent customer care with professional phone and chat etiquette.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
Empathetic, patient, and able to communicate effectively with clients.
Ability to type at least 30 words per minute (preferred).

Number of clients acquired and retained
Total loan disbursements
Loan repayment rates and collections performance
Portfolio quality (nil bad loans/write-offs)
