Job Overview
Ecobank Uganda is seeking a qualified and experienced Credit Officer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing credit data and financial statements to evaluate the creditworthiness of clients, prepare detailed credit reports, and support the development and management of the bank’s credit portfolio in line with Ecobank Group standards.

How to Apply
Analyze financial statements and credit data to prepare comprehensive credit reports.
Review credit requests, including financial and risk assessments, especially for corporate clients.
Assist in the financial evaluation of new projects and assess market risks to guide business decisions.
Prepare structured credit reports for both new proposals and renewals, ensuring full compliance with Ecobank Group credit and KYC standards.
Maintain updated financial information on loan accounts, including covenants, spreads, and interim reports.
Conduct periodic economic and industry analyses, perform stress tests, and propose strategic actions to manage portfolio risk.
Monitor and verify correct application of interest rates on all loan accounts.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, General Management, or a related field.
Professional qualification such as Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers or equivalent is a strong advantage.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the banking sector, preferably in credit analysis or related roles.
Skills & Attributes
Strong technical skills in credit risk analysis and portfolio management.
Solid knowledge of banking products, lending practices, and financial regulations.
Ability to apply relevant policies, procedures, and compliance standards effectively.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
Highly analytical with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and within a team.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
