Job Title: Communications Assistant (Maternity Leave Cover – Six Months)

Role Summary
The Communications Assistant will provide six-month maternity cover, ensuring seamless continuation of communication functions across the organisation. The role focuses on strengthening brand visibility, supporting media engagement, developing content, managing digital platforms, and facilitating internal and external communication.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Brand Visibility and Media Outreach: Enhance the organisation’s digital footprint and support media relations efforts. Build and maintain relationships with journalists, coordinate media engagements, analyse media coverage, and ensure consistency in messaging across platforms.
Content Development and Impact Storytelling: Produce compelling written content including blogs, stories, and organisational updates. Manage multimedia production, collect stories from the field, and package content that highlights program impact.
Digital Engagement and Social Media Management: Oversee the organisation’s social media channels and website, monitor engagement, and prepare digital analytics reports to inform strategy.
Internal and External Communications Support: Prepare internal communication updates and facilitate smooth communication across teams.
Event Management Support: Coordinate branding and documentation during events, and prepare post-event media reports.
Fundraising Communication Support: Develop success stories, case studies, and multimedia content to support fundraising initiatives. Work closely with the fundraising team to ensure timely, relevant, and donor-aligned communication materials.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
Minimum of three years’ experience in communications or media relations.
