Job Title: Communication Specialist

About the Role
Microhaem Scientifics is seeking an experienced and creative Communication Specialist to lead the development and execution of the organization’s communication strategies. This role is central to strengthening internal and external messaging, building brand visibility, and managing key communications that align with company goals. The Communication Specialist will serve as the lead content creator and messaging strategist, while also managing a small creative team.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Strategic Communications
Design and implement a cohesive communication strategy that aligns with the company’s mission and values.
Ensure brand consistency across all communication platforms, materials, and media.
Support organizational reputation-building through compelling narratives and professional representation.
Content Development & Media Relations
Serve as the lead writer and editor for the company, developing press releases, blog posts, speeches, and other official content.
Liaise with external public relations agencies to ensure message consistency and professional media engagement.
Craft high-impact stories for media distribution and brand positioning, including award submissions, success stories, and case studies.
Internal Communication
Lead internal communications to keep staff well-informed of company updates, policies, and activities.
Manage executive communication needs including speeches, memos, and presentations for senior leadership.
Support leadership visibility through strategic management of the Managing Director’s communication channels and public profile.
Multimedia & Digital Engagement
Oversee production of videos (documentaries, testimonials, product promos) and event coverage from concept to post-production.
Curate visual content for corporate archives and publications, ensuring professional standards in photography and video.
Manage content on company digital platforms, ensuring timely, relevant, and engaging updates.
Public Events & Stakeholder Engagement
Support planning and media coverage of public and company-hosted events at both national and regional levels.
Coordinate messaging for radio, TV, and digital campaigns in collaboration with the Sales & Marketing team.
Prepare press kits, arrange interviews, and act as liaison with media houses and government communication units.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Documentation
Maintain a database of media contacts, photo and video assets, and internal communication records.
Prepare and submit regular reports on communication activities, reach, and engagement.
Support the Managing Director and the Director of Sales & Marketing with strategic communication advice and timely dissemination of key information.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Master’s degree or equivalent in Mass Communication, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a communication or PR role, preferably within a corporate or scientific/technical organization.
Proven ability to manage both traditional and digital media platforms.
Previous exposure to working in scientific or manufacturing environments, or within government engagement settings, is an added advantage.

Exceptional verbal communication and public speaking skills.
Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
Proficiency in using modern digital tools and platforms for communication.
