Job Description
Coordinating the formulation, review, development, and implementation of sector plans, strategies, policies, and regulations for the conduct of surveys and mapping in Uganda; and providing technical and administrative leadership to ensure the efficient and effective execution of national survey and mapping programs, projects, and activities.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Coordinate the formulation, review, development, and implementation of sector plans, strategies, policies, and regulations for the conduct of surveys and mapping in Uganda.
Provide technical and administrative leadership to ensure the efficient and effective conduct of national survey and mapping programs, projects, and activities.
Initiate and supervise national studies and research on surveys, mapping, and related activities.
Supervise survey projects and programmes for the maintenance of national territorial boundaries.
Supervise the provision of technical support, oversight, and training to Local Governments and relevant stakeholders on land surveys and mapping matters.
Advise Government on matters relating to or incidental to surveys and mapping, including related equipment.
Coordinate the collection, custody, and updating of national surveys and mapping records.
Monitor the programmes and activities of private surveyors.
Plan, budget, and account for departmental resources and performance.
Supervise, mentor, and appraise the performance of departmental staff.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
