Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC)

Job Title: Clinical Officer
Duty Station: Busitema & Kigandalo


Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Duties Brief: 

  • Conduct study enrolment and interviews

  • Capture all interview data in electronic data capture systems and ensure the timely upload of data.

  • Draw and prepare samples from study participants

  • Maintain secure sample and consent storage and facilitate transfer of samples to Kampala.

  • Support data cleaning efforts in collaboration with the study Principal Investigator

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualification Required

  • A diploma in Clinical Medicine from a recognised institution.

  • Must be fully registered with Allied Health professionals and must have a valid practicing license.

  • Experience in providing care to participants in a research setting.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to use a computer and Microsoft packages.

  • Experience conducting electronic data entry on tablets or mobile phones with data platforms like KoboCollect, OpenDataKit, RedCAP.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to speak Samia and Lusoga Training in Good Clinical Practice and Human Subject Protection will be an added advantage.
