Child Protection in Emergency Coordinator job at Plan International
Job Description
He/she assists the project manager in the overall coordination and management of all programmatic and financial aspects of the project in accordance with the proposal.
Duties and Responsibilities
The CPiE Coordinator supervises the CPiE Officers and assists the Project Manager in facilitating effective management of the DGD Project to ensure project results are delivered in line with project proposal, PIU West Nile emergency response strategy and Direction générale de la Coopération au Développement – DGD requirements.
He/she assists the project manager in the overall coordination and management of all programmatic and financial aspects of the project in accordance with the proposal.
The Coordinator is accountable to the Project manager for all project deliverables in relation to key principal project objectives, specific objectives and the four (5) result areas.
The incumbent assists the project manager to ensure effective budget utilisation and project performance and contributes to building protective environments for refugee and host communities in the project target location to ensure children and adolescents affected by the crisis thrive and feel safe from all forms of violence, including SGBV.
Qualifications and Competencies
A degree in social work, psychology, human rights, development studies or a related field
At least five years of experience in child protection programming, preferably in emergency settings
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in child protection standards, principles and approaches
Experience in leading and managing teams, budgets and projects
Excellent communication, facilitation and coordination skills
Fluency in English and the local language of the duty station
Willingness to travel and work in challenging environments
