About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Business Project Consultant – Agribusiness Funding Specialist to lead the development of impactful, fundable proposals in agribusiness, trade, and value chain development.
The ideal candidate is a skilled writer and strategist with a strong track record of securing donor and investment funding for agriculture-focused initiatives. You will play a key role in designing projects, drafting compelling proposals, and expanding AGRITRADE Uganda’s fundraising pipeline.

Identify and research relevant funding opportunities from donors, investors, and development agencies
Develop high-quality business plans, concept notes, and grant proposals aligned with AGRITRADE Uganda’s mission and strategic focus areas
Tailor submissions to match specific donor guidelines and private investor requirements
Collaborate with technical teams to design projects that include log frames, budgets, and monitoring and evaluation frameworks
Strengthen and implement AGRITRADE Uganda’s fundraising strategy, ensuring a continuous pipeline of funding opportunities
Edit, refine, and enhance existing proposals for greater competitiveness and impact

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Economics, Business, Development Studies, or a related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in writing successful proposals for agribusiness, trade, or donor-funded programs
Strong knowledge of Uganda’s agriculture sector, trade frameworks, and the donor landscape
Excellent analytical and proposal writing skills, with the ability to translate technical ideas into persuasive content
Proficiency in developing logical frameworks, results-based management plans, and impact measurement strategies
