Position Title: Business Development Manager

Location: JCRC Headquarters, Lubowa – Uganda
Reports To: Deputy Executive Director – Finance & Operations
Position Overview:
The Business Development Manager will play a key leadership role in driving strategic growth initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for resource mobilization, partnership development, and exploring new business opportunities that support the long-term sustainability of JCRC’s research and healthcare programs.

How to Apply

Design and implement JCRC’s business development framework and sustainability strategy.
Lead the development and regular review of JCRC’s Strategic and Operational Plans.
Conduct market and trend analysis to identify and lead business proposal development aligned with JCRC’s mandate.
2. Partnerships & Resource Mobilization
Establish and maintain strategic partnerships to support fundraising, collaboration, and institutional growth.
Provide technical input for project proposal development across JCRC and its Regional Centres of Excellence.
Support engagement and relationship management with donors, funders, and private sector partners.
3. Innovation & Market Development
Identify and design new services and products based on market needs.
Support the rollout of new offerings and explore new sectors for service expansion.
Grow JCRC’s client and partner portfolio by maximizing the value of existing services and attracting new business.
4. Revenue Growth & Sustainability
Lead initiatives that enhance self-generated income and promote cost-effectiveness.
Benchmark and implement best practices in sustainable healthcare and research funding.

Master’s degree in Business Development, Public Health, or a related field.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Business Development Manager in a busy organization.
Proven experience in grant writing, publications, and presentations.
Solid understanding of clinical and research operations.
Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and database systems.
Excellent communication skills—both written and oral.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and influence diverse stakeholders.
Highly results-oriented, organized, and self-driven.
