Job Description
Job Title: Business Applications Specialist
Organisation: Pride Bank Limited (PBL)
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
The Business Applications Specialist will report to the Manager Core Banking and Business Applications and will be based at Head office. He/ she will be responsible for responsible for the integrity, safety and availability of all Business Systems data and applications as part of the bank‘s information systems and preparation and dissemination of user and management reports.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Communicate messages regarding systems issues to users in a timely manner
Develop and generate reports as per user/ business requirements
Implement, test and integrate new applications
Install new operation systems and releases
Investigate, diagnose and resolve system faults and errors
Liaise with service providers when needed to fulfil the requirements of the organization
Maintain documentation of key databases and applications linked to them.
Monitor Business and third-party systems and ensure they are always available to users and customers
Monitor, record and respond to requests for support
Participate and coordinate the Disaster Recovery Plan and testing
Participate in the identification and development of functionality changes
Participate in the preparation of technical specification as a roadmap for third party systems
Perform routine system backups and upgrades
Provide instructions and training to staff when necessary
Schedule and run regular tests to enhance
the current systems and applications
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or any other related field.
Experience of at least 3 years in IT Operations.
Experience in software development or database administration in a busy organization
Microsoft and Database Management certification is desirable.
Should possess 2 principal passes at A’ level and credits/pass in Mathematics and English at O’Level.
He/she should not be more than 40 years of age.
All Internal staff should have at least good performance rating in the recent appraisal cycles.
