Job Description
The selected UN Volunteer will support the development of intuitive and visually appealing web interfaces. The role involves close collaboration with back-end developers and stakeholders to ensure the creation of high-performance and scalable web applications using modern front-end frameworks. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong grasp of UI/UX principles, ensure cross-browser compatibility, and stay current with front-end development trends. In particular, the volunteer will contribute to improving the Tourism Activity Tracker, enhancing its user interface for better usability and accessibility.

How to Apply
Develop, test, and maintain responsive web applications focused on performance and scalability
Collaborate with back-end developers to deliver intuitive and appealing interfaces
Implement front-end components using frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility
Write clean, maintainable code aligned with industry best practices
Integrate APIs and work with backend teams for seamless data interaction
Stay current with emerging trends in front-end technologies
Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues and bugs
Minimum 3 years of experience in front-end development for responsive web applications
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6+), and modern frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js)
Experience with CSS preprocessors (SASS, LESS) and frameworks (Tailwind, Bootstrap)
Familiarity with version control tools like Git
Experience integrating RESTful APIs and using asynchronous request methods (AJAX, Fetch, Axios)
Knowledge of front-end build tools (Webpack, Vite, Parcel) and task runners (Gulp, Grunt)
Proficiency in optimization techniques such as lazy loading and code splitting
Understanding of accessibility and SEO best practices
Experience in frontend development for data visualization platforms or public sector systems
Ability to work in agile environments
Preferred Skills:
Experience with TypeScript and state management libraries (Redux, Vuex, Zustand, Recoil)
Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Cypress)
Knowledge of server-side rendering (SSR) and static site generation (SSG)
Experience with cloud deployment platforms (Vercel, Netlify, AWS)
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Strong understanding of UI/UX principles
