Job Purpose
Lead the implementation of branch distribution and optimization strategies aligned with business growth, risk management, customer experience, digital transformation, staff engagement, and financial performance goals.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategies to expand the branch’s liability base and asset portfolio in line with the bank’s overall objectives.
Monitor and ensure customer service ratings meet the bank’s standards.
Oversee compliance with the credit risk framework to maintain acceptable asset quality levels.
Implement internal controls and procedures compliant with bank policies.
Lead budgeting processes, track monthly budget performance, and take corrective actions when necessary.
Manage and authorize all account operations including opening, reactivation, adjustments, transfers, and closures, ensuring adherence to bank policies, KYC, CRB, and anti-money laundering guidelines.
Conduct field visits and loan verifications to safeguard portfolio quality.
Prepare and present branch performance reports to stakeholders in accordance with set standards.
Plan and monitor staff development and performance in line with HR policies.
Financial Responsibilities
Drive growth in the branch’s liabilities and asset portfolios.
Manage costs effectively to optimize branch profitability.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education & Training:
Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Business or related field from a recognized university.
Postgraduate qualifications or professional certifications in relevant fields are a plus.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in branch operations and business growth, with solid credit experience.
Strong understanding of lending laws and financial regulations.
Excellent analytical and business intelligence skills to interpret market trends.
Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams.
Business Competencies:
Proficient in computer applications.
Skilled in credit analysis, marketing, sales, and relationship management.
Strong collaboration skills to foster relationships and manage conflicts effectively.
