Job Description

The Branch Manager will be responsible for ensuring sales growth and profitability, motivating and supervising staff, maintaining showroom standards, monitoring stock levels, enforcing compliance with company policies, and providing excellent customer service. The position also requires effective reporting to management, driving customer retention initiatives, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining strong leadership to achieve branch goals. This role demands a proactive individual with strong decision-making skills, capable of thriving in a fast-paced retail environment.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Sales & Profitability

  • Consistently achieve branch and staff sales targets.

  • Monitor sales activities including enquiries, quotations, and returns.

  • Control branch costs and optimize resource utilization.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and report losses or variances.

People Management & Leadership

  • Supervise, coach, and motivate staff to deliver high performance.

  • Manage staff schedules, attendance, leave, and overtime.

  • Conduct performance appraisals, probation reviews, and evaluations.

  • Identify training needs and coordinate with HR for staff development.

  • Foster a respectful, professional, and productive workplace.

Showroom Management & Merchandising

  • Ensure attractive showroom displays and compliance with merchandising standards.

  • Conduct regular floor walks to check stock levels and damages.

  • Propose new display ideas and product requisitions.

  • Rotate slow-moving items to create space for fast-moving stock.

Compliance & Administration

  • Enforce compliance with SOPs in sales, stock handling, and deliveries.

  • Oversee cashier operations, invoicing, and reconciliations.

  • Ensure timely daily banking and accurate records.

  • Monitor facility repairs, maintenance, permits, and licenses.

  • Submit accurate and timely weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.

Stock Management & Pricing

  • Conduct monthly stock takes and reconcile variances.

  • Ensure accurate product labeling, pricing, and availability.

  • Monitor stock levels and requisition replenishment in time.

Customer Experience

  • Deliver excellent customer service and resolve complaints promptly.

  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

  • Develop and share customer experience improvement initiatives.

Reporting

  • Prepare and submit timely sales, stock, and customer reports.

  • Share daily meeting notes and updates with management.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, or related field.

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience managing a retail team.

  • At least 2 years in a supervisory or assistant branch manager role.

  • Proven record of meeting sales and profitability targets.

  • Strong skills in stock control, merchandising, and operations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
