Job Title: Assistant Relationship Manager – Personal Banking

Job Purpose
To drive business growth in the Personal Banking segment by managing and developing customer relationships within the assigned branch or territory. This involves delivering exceptional service, enhancing customer retention, and identifying cross-selling opportunities to grow the bank’s portfolio and revenue.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Grow the Personal Banking portfolio by meeting set targets for deposits, lending, and revenue generation.
Acquire new customers by prospecting within the assigned territory and offering tailored financial solutions.
Drive product uptake by cross-selling banking solutions to both existing and potential customers.
Regularly review and reactivate dormant accounts to boost asset and liability growth.
Conduct daily relationship management (RM) calls to maintain customer engagement and provide updates on products and services.
Ensure efficient and timely processing of account openings and loan applications in line with customer service charter and TAT standards.
Ensure full compliance with KYC, AML, and regulatory requirements across all customer interactions and documentation.
Proactively monitor and manage portfolio risks to maintain a high-quality asset book.
Provide customer support by managing inquiries, complaints, and service requests within defined timelines.
Utilize CRM and Credit Quest systems effectively to support customer onboarding and credit processes.
Partner with internal teams (e.g. credit, appraisal) to structure suitable financial solutions for customers.
Support continuous learning within the branch through staff training on banking products and services.
Monitor market trends, provide feedback to management, and support the development of new offerings.
Assist the Branch Manager in planning and executing sales and marketing initiatives.
Ensure strong branch operations by adhering to audit, security, and operational standards.
Take responsibility for managing non-performing loans (NPLs) to ensure portfolio cleanliness.
Comply with leave schedules and support overall branch performance as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Academic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline.
Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or Credit Management are an added advantage.
Professional Skills:
Strong understanding of banking products, credit principles, and regulatory compliance.
Familiarity with customer relationship systems (e.g. CRM) and credit processing tools.
Experience:
3–4 years of experience in banking, with a focus on sales, customer service, and relationship management.
