Oil Palm Uganda Limited (OPUL), is a joint venture between Wilmar international, Josovina of Singapore, Bidco Uganda Limited and the Government of the republic of Uganda. Oil Palm Uganda Limited (OPUL) has established over 6,500 hectares of oil palm supported by over 4,500 hectares of small holder farmers on Kalangala Bugala Island with two palm oil mills of 20TPH capacity. Replicating the Kalangala model, we are also undergoing development of new nucleus and small holder’s estates in Masaka, Kyotera and Buvuma.

How to Apply
Coordinate activities EHSS activities within the various plantation sites (OPUL, OSBL and OPBL)
Supervise all EHSS officers
Implement and maintain policies and guidelines on Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability.
Coordinate ESG reporting for all sites
Develop, implement, administer and maintain EHS protocol on use of PPEs and adherence to safety and health related programs
Review and update the corporate EHS management system manual and monitor its implementation.
Prepare and implement the EHS training plan in coordination with the Sustainability Lead.
Formulate corporate short term and long term EHS objectives and plans.
Carry out accident and incident investigations and submit relevant reports.
Promote EHS plans, monitor, evaluate and report performance against plans.
Audit expertise and ensure execution of monthly/ quarterly audit findings.
Maintain contacts with external parties regarding environment, Health and safety, including government institutions.
Provide advice on Environment, Health and safety to line departments.
Compile EHS data and report all incidents / accidents accurately and within specified time frame.
Participate in implementing the corporate EHSS strategy and objectives.
Provide expert advice on EHSS matters to management.
Any other duties that may be assigned by management from time to time.
The Candidate must be a holder of a BSc in Environmental Management; BSc Engineering; BSc. Natural Resources Management
Possession of Environmental Management Certificates is an added advantage.
Good Organizational, Planning and Presentation Skills
Good understanding of occupational health and safety Legislation.
