Job Title: Agribusiness Expert

Enabel in Uganda is seeking to recruit an Agribusiness Expert based in Fort Portal.
You are responsible for ensuring the technical quality, relevance, and coherence of agriculture-food sector activities across Enabel’s portfolio. You coordinate multi-stakeholder dialogue, strengthen value chain governance, and drive youth-focused business development within selected agricultural value chains. Your role includes facilitating innovation, research, peer learning, and investment in infrastructure, while also supporting the promotion, branding, and engagement of the private sector. Additionally, you contribute to curriculum development, entrepreneurship initiatives, and awareness campaigns to enhance agricultural value chains and promote sustainable sector growth.

How to Apply
You lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of agribusiness activities, ensuring achievement of project outcomes, quality delivery, and sound financial management.
You provide technical expertise in youth-focused business development and value chain strengthening, contributing to innovation, strategy development, and productive dialogue with stakeholders.
You drive knowledge management and communication efforts, documenting lessons learned, showcasing innovations, and contributing to policy dialogue and learning platforms.
You facilitate institutional change and capacity development of partner entities, improving systems, processes, and staff competencies to support sustainable agribusiness growth.
Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Rural Development, or a related field.
At least 5 years’ experience in agribusiness, smallholder enterprise development, and value chain programming.
Strong understanding of market systems, agroecology, food security, and rural livelihoods.
Proven ability to work in humanitarian and conflict-affected settings.
Skilled in stakeholder engagement, team leadership, and digital tools.
Excellent communication, M&E, and report writing skills.
Flexible, results-oriented, and effective across diverse teams and regions.
