Uganda Free Zones and Export Promotions Authority (UFZEPA) is a statutory government agency established under the Free Zones (Amendment) Act No. 30 of 2024. Formed through the merger of the Uganda Free Zones Authority and the Uganda Export Promotion Board, UFZEPA operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives. The Authority is mandated to oversee the establishment, development, management, marketing, maintenance, supervision, and control of free zones, as well as the development, promotion, and coordination of all export-related activities in Uganda.
UFZEPA aims to stimulate foreign investment, enhance export competitiveness, create employment opportunities, and drive sustainable economic growth by providing a conducive environment for businesses. Position: Senior Accountant

Job Summary: To provide technical support in budget formulation, execution and accountability to ensure sound management of financial resources
Salary: UFZEPA - 4
Terms: Three (3) Year Contract (Renewable upon good performance)

How to Apply
Coordinate preparation of work plans and budgets; facilitate budget execution
Supervise timely preparation and approval of financial statements and reports
Verify and approve micro procurement requisitions; advise on higher-threshold transactions
Review responses and advise on oversight issues, including audit queries
Supervise accounts operations and monitor/evaluate staff performance
Maintain up-to-date books, financial records and assets register
Provide guidance on financial management to ensure compliance
Develop internal financial controls and monitoring mechanisms

Person Specifications
a) Academic Qualifications
Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Accounting), Business Administration/Studies (Accounting), or Finance and Accounting
Full professional accountancy qualification such as ACCA/CPA/ACIS/CPE (ICPAU-accredited)
ICPAU membership in good standing
b) Work Experience
At least 3 years’ experience at Accountant level in Government or equivalent in a reputable organization
