Job Description
VACANCY: Business Banker

As part of our growth strategy and to better serve our expanding customer base, we are looking to recruit dynamic, self-driven, and results-oriented professionals to fill the following position:
Position: Business Banker
Reports to: Branch Manager
Duty Station: Branch Offices in Arua (1), Soroti (1), Mbale (1), Jinja (1), and Kampala Area (3)
Role Purpose:
To deliver responsive and efficient banking services that contribute to the growth of the bank’s assets and liabilities, while maintaining high portfolio quality in alignment with branch objectives.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Initiate and process credit applications for both new and existing clients, including financial analysis and full documentation, in accordance with the bank’s credit policies.
Present loan proposals to the branch credit committee and communicate decisions to applicants in line with lending procedures.
Monitor loan performance post-disbursement to ensure compliance with agreed terms.
Collaborate with the credit department to implement recovery actions for defaulted and written-off loans in line with policy guidelines.
Drive growth of customer deposits within the assigned portfolio to increase the bank’s share of wallet.
Promote bank products and services in line with the branch work plan and market strategy.
Achieve asset, liability, and revenue targets by effectively selling financial products.
Build and manage strong client relationships through regular visits, feedback, and proactive service delivery to exceed customer expectations.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
Postgraduate or professional qualifications in a related field are an added advantage.
At least 3 years of progressive experience in a reputable financial institution, with a proven record in sales and relationship management.
Solid understanding of lending regulations and laws applicable to financial institutions.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Strong computer proficiency, with advanced numerical and analytical skills.
