Job Description
Job Title: Enumerators (50 Data Collection Jobs)
Organisation: Apata Insights
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
We seek 50 (Fifty) highly skilled Enumerators to work with us on an upcoming education related research project. The engagement will be for a period of between 2 weeks to 1 month during the first term of the school year 2025.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Administer assessments and surveys to students, teachers, and school administrators.
Ensure data accuracy by following standardized procedures.
Maintain professionalism while working within school environments.
Safeguard all data and equipment during the collection process.
Ethical considerations:
Must have an understanding of ethical guidelines, including confidentiality and informed consent.
Experience or willingness to undergo training in handling sensitive topics such as safeguarding issues in schools.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, statistics, or related fields.
Experience:
At least 1 year of experience in data collection.
Experience in the education sector as a teacher is an advantage. Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative research methods. Experience working with school-aged populations and child safeguarding is an advantage.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with school staff and students.
Proficiency in using data collection tools such as tablets, smartphones, and paper-based methods.
Competency in data entry using tools such as Excel, Web based, or data entry software (e.g., Survey CTO, ODK, Kobo Toolbox). Ability to adhere to strict data quality standards and protocols.
Knowledge of local languages is an added advantage.
Attributes:
High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality. Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Flexibility and adaptability to work in diverse settings, including rural areas.
Understanding of ethical practices for working with minors, including safeguarding protocols.
Availability:
Must be available for training and the entire data collection period.
Willingness to travel and work in various districts across Uganda
