Job Description
Position: Data Officer
Type: Full-time
Location: Tororo, Hoima & Mubende, Uganda
Redeem International is hiring a mission-driven Data Officer to support the monitoring and evaluation of our casework in Tororo, Hoima and Mubende. This role is essential to tracking and improving our impact on widows and orphans affected by property grabbing and other forms of exploitation.
You will be responsible for collecting, managing, and analyzing data to inform Redeem’s strategies and demonstrate the effectiveness of our interventions. Your work will directly contribute to helping restore justice and protection to some of the most vulnerable members of society.

Program Evaluation (80%)
Implement Redeem’s impact evaluation strategy with your assigned casework team
Coordinate with local council leaders and authorities to identify widows for surveying
Conduct field surveys to assess property grabbing and related vulnerabilities
Collect detailed data on participants (e.g., demographics, land rights, marital status, abuse history)
Maintain high standards for data quality and ensure timely submission
Enter and manage data in Redeem’s databases for analysis and decision-making
Refer eligible survey participants for case intake and support team follow-up
Provide support to other Redeem project areas as needed for evaluation activities
Performance Monitoring (10%)
Conduct focus group discussions to assess community-level deterrence
Collect and report on non-casework program indicators as required
Support the Casework Admin in monitoring and analyzing team performance data
Provide regular updates and insights to the Team Lead and M&E Director
Ensure the team is effectively using M&E tools and systems
Respond to ad-hoc data needs from internal stakeholders
Miscellaneous (10%)
Support communication efforts with donors, media, and external partners
Contribute to system and policy development within the organization
Participate in team development and spiritual formation activities
Provide support to other Redeem teams and handle general administrative tasks
Complete other duties as assigned by leadership
Reporting & Location
Reports to: Director of Monitoring & Evaluation, with dotted-line reporting to the Team Lead
Location: Tororo, with occasional travel to Kampala and other project districts
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Candidate Profile: Data Officer
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Population Studies, Development Studies, Economics, or a related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in monitoring & evaluation, research, or data management
Hands-on experience conducting surveys and collecting field data
Preferred Experience
Background in qualitative research and focus group facilitation
Familiarity with digital data tools such as ODK, Kobo Collect, or cloud-based M&E platforms
Prior experience in international, faith-based, or start-up organizations
Skills
Fluency in English, Japadhola, Ateso, Lunyole, and Kiswahili, with strong communication skills
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and management
Strong computer skills, including word processing, email, and digital tools
Familiarity with Google Workspace and project management apps is a plus
Attributes
