Job Description
Job Title: Store & Procurement Officer and Store & Procurement Assistant (2 Positions)

Duty Station: Jinja, Uganda
Job Summary: Jinja Sailing Club is committed to maintaining strong internal controls, efficiency, and timely service delivery in our daily operations. Following a recent staffing transition, we are seeking a competent Store & Procurement Officer and Assistant to join our team and ensure continuity and excellence in our supply chain processes.
Both roles will handle the same core responsibilities, ensuring accurate stock management, timely procurement, and smooth supply chain operations.
The Assistant will primarily support the Officer in daily operations, helping to maintain continuity, accountability, and efficiency.
Successful candidates will oversee end-to-end stock management while ensuring that all procurement activities are timely, cost-effective, and in line with the company’s standards.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Manage and maintain accurate stock records for all food, beverage, and operational supplies.
Conduct regular stock checks, reconciliations, and reports for management.
Ensure proper storage of all items to maintain quality.
Coordinate the procurement cycle—from sourcing suppliers to requesting quotations and preparing purchase orders.
Ensure timely replenishment of stock based on consumption trends and operational needs.
Work closely with the kitchen, bar, and operations teams to forecast stock requirements.
Track supplier performance, delivery timelines, and cost efficiencies.
Maintain full compliance with procurement policies and internal controls.
Collaborate and support each other to maintain seamless store and procurement operations.
Any other duties assigned time to time.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Diploma or Degree in any business-related field (e.g., Procurement, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Stores Management etc.).
Experience is an added advantage but not mandatory. Candidates without prior experience but who demonstrate the skills, attitude, and competencies listed below are encouraged to apply—training will be provided.
Strong understanding or willingness to learn basic inventory management and record-keeping principles.
High level of integrity, honesty, and commitment to maintaining accurate stock controls.
Demonstrated hard-working attitude, reliability, and strong sense of responsibility.
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly to operational needs.
Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
Good analytical skills and basic comfort with numbers or stock reconciliation.
Flexible, proactive, and able to support different departments when needed.
Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with stock-management or accounting software is an added advantage.
Additional Considerations
Due to the nature of the role, candidates who are comfortable with moving stocks, and active store work are encouraged to apply.
Preference will be given to candidates currently residing in or around Jinja for ease of reporting and operational flexibility
