About the Role

Raising The Village (RTV) is seeking two (2) dedicated and experienced Project Officers to support the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of our community development initiatives. The successful candidates will work closely with local communities to deliver impactful programs aimed at eradicating extreme poverty and increasing household incomes.

This is a field-based position, with significant travel (approximately 90%) to last-mile communities across Uganda. Candidates must be flexible, proactive, and deeply committed to RTV’s mission.

How to Apply

1. Project Implementation

  • Facilitate project design review sessions with partner villages and incorporate feedback into final project plans and budgets.

  • Organize and co-lead community trainings on:

    • Financial literacy

    • Mindset and behavior change

    • Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH)

    • Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs)

    • Agriculture and livestock care

    • Health outreach programs

  • Apply RTV’s methodologies to reduce extreme poverty and boost household income.

  • Submit procurement requests and verify goods before distribution to ensure accuracy and quality.

  • Conduct regular field follow-ups with groups and households to ensure project continuity and compliance.

  • Identify project risks and provide actionable recommendations and mitigation strategies.

  • Engage community leaders and members through regular meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and community feedback.

2. Reporting & Administration

  • Develop and manage weekly work plans aligned with project timelines and goals.

  • Prepare weekly field reports and contribute to donor reports and proposal development.

  • Attend and actively participate in weekly team meetings to share insights, progress, and challenges.

  • Submit timely financial requests and accountabilities to the Senior Project Officer.

  • Capture field activities and outcomes through photographs for RTV’s data repository.

3. Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Offer constructive feedback to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of RTV’s interventions.

  • Recommend new activities or adjustments to improve sustainability and community impact.

  • Assist the M&E team by providing timely field data and feedback.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Community Development, Humanities, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant field experience working in rural or last-mile communities.


Technical & Administrative Competencies

  • Strong facilitation and community training skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).

  • Excellent communication skills in both English and relevant local languages.

  • Understanding of grassroots development and community engagement principles.

  • Proven ability to work independently and within a team setting.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Creative thinking and effective problem-solving capabilities.

  • High level of integrity, adaptability, and resilience.

  • Comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

  • Physically fit and able to hike in high-terrain areas.

Motorbike riding ability is a strong advantage.
