Job Description
Job Title: Project Assistant (2 Positions)
Organization: Raising The Village (RTV)
Location: Kassanda & Amuru, Uganda
Employment Type: Full-time | Annual Contract
Reports to: Project Officer
Languages Required: Luganda (Kassanda), Acholi (Amuru), and other relevant local languages
Travel Requirement: Up to 90%
Position Overview
We are seeking two dedicated Project Assistants to support project implementation and community engagement in Kassanda and Amuru districts. The ideal candidates will be passionate about grassroots development, highly organized, and able to travel extensively within rural settings.

How to Apply
1. Project Implementation
Engage partner villages in project design review meetings; collect and relay feedback
Co-facilitate trainings in areas such as financial literacy, behavior change, WASH, VSLA, agriculture, livestock care, and health outreaches
Execute project activities aligned with RTV methodologies to reduce extreme poverty
Coordinate logistics: request, verify, and support the distribution of project inputs
Conduct routine follow-ups with community groups and households to ensure proper implementation
Identify risks or challenges and provide solutions or recommendations for improvement
Hold regular community meetings to discuss project performance and feedback
2. Reporting & Administration
Develop and manage personal work plans in line with project timelines
Submit weekly field reports and contribute data for donor reports and proposals
Participate in team and staff meetings to report on progress and challenges
Handle weekly financial requests, expense submissions, and accountabilities
Capture field photos and contribute to RTV’s data repository
3. Monitoring & Evaluation
Provide field feedback to improve project delivery and community engagement
Offer recommendations for revising or introducing activities to strengthen sustainability and impact
Support adaptive learning by documenting lessons learned and success stories
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Community Development, or related field
Experience
Minimum 2 years of relevant field experience working at the community level
Required Skills
Strong facilitation and community training skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Fluency in local languages (Luganda or Acholi based on location)
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
Willingness and physical ability to travel and work in remote, high-terrain areas
High level of adaptability, integrity, and a positive attitude in dynamic environments
