Job Summary: Jakana Foods Ltd, a leading producer of high-quality dried fruits and gourmet food products, is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our finance team. If you have a passion for numbers and a knack for keeping financial records in order, we’d love to meet you!
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records for the company. This includes overseeing accounts payable and receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and assisting with the preparation of financial reports. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Process and record daily financial transactions with precision.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Petty cash management.
Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and payments.
Conduct bank reconciliations and support month-end closings.
Assist with payroll processing and liaise with external auditors as needed.

Qualifications and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within the food or manufacturing industry
Proficiency in various accounting systems; knowledge of QuickBooks is an added advantage
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
