The Phase II program is a scale up of the Higher Education Access Program (HEAP) in Uganda and the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program in Ethiopia and Rwanda. It aims to support academically talented young women and men from underrepresented communities to access higher education and
successfully transition to the world of work.
Over a period of seven years (2024-2030), FAWE Uganda will support and empower 1,800 underrepresented young people, comprising 80% females and 20% males. This group will include persons with disabilities and refugees, all facing the highest social and economic barriers to opportunity and aged 15-25 years. The program will be implemented across the Eastern, Central, Northern, and Western regions of Uganda.
Applicants should have completed secondary education and will transition into Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and university education. For the academic year 2024/2025, we are offering 500 bursaries, with 200 allocated for TVET and 300 for the Higher Education Access
Certificate (HEAC) Program.
This program will support young people in accessing tertiary education through two pathways: TVET and HEAC Program.
