To ensure that the division benefits from the lowest possible equipment operating costs with the highest possible vehicle uptime. To implement all SHEQ and maintenance policies within the workshop. Ensure adherence to all environmental and relevant legislative requirements.

Maintenance Procedures and Performance
Understanding of maintenance budgets.
Ensuring compliance to maintenance and SHEQ standards and procedures
Ensuring fleet is maintained to manufacturer's specifications You are to adhere to all environmental responsibilities and relevant legislative requirements.
Will be required to have hands on experience. Will be required to give technical support to the team.
Tyre Control
Ensuring that scrapping of tyres is done in conjunction with a tyre manufacturer or Retreader
Management Functions
Attend daily maintenance and operations meetings
Ensuring regular and timeous communication between operations and maintenance departments.
Ensuring that all relevant paperwork is completed accurately and timeously.
Managing staff according to group HR policy
Assist Workshop Administrator with parts purchasing and break- downs.
A degree or diploma in mechanical or automotive engineering
Experience Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years hands on fleet maintenance experience in the Trucking industry, of which 3 years' must be in supervising a workshop or fleet maintenance team.
Must be a qualified Diesel Motor Mechanic.
Good knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Good basic knowledge of vehicle electrics.
Key Performance areas:
Adherence to Maintenance and SHEQ Procedures and Policies
Optimize fleet availability and reduce downtime.
Control work under his responsibility.
Ensure COFS and services are completed on time.
Completion of job cards (Sign off and filing)
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to satisfy customers/clients
Ability to take decisions based on sound reasoning. Attention to detail
Dedicated to service excellence
Good time management
Honesty and integrity
Initiative
Motivation of staff and self motivation Team player
