Job Description

The Wholesale Sales Lead – Uganda is responsible for driving sustainable wholesale revenue growth, strategic account leadership, and market expansion within the Uganda market. This role demands deep expertise in telecom wholesale markets, carrier commercial models, disciplined pipeline governance, and executive-level engagement.

The incumbent will translate market intelligence into actionable commercial strategy, ensuring attainment of revenue, profitability, margin protection, and long-term customer retention objectives while upholding BCS pricing and governance frameworks.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

Sales and Revenue

  • Execute wholesale sales strategies aligned to annual revenue and margin targets.
  • Identify, qualify, and close new wholesale opportunities within Uganda.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements for Capacity, Dark Fiber, IPT/DIA, IRUs, Colocation and EPC services.
  • Manage and expand strategic key accounts (renewals, upsells, cross-sells).
  • Ensure strict margin protection and compliance with BCS pricing governance.
  • Maintain minimum 3x qualified pipeline coverage against allocated targets.

Reporting, Analysing & Forecasting

  • Maintain accurate CRM pipeline tracking with disciplined weekly reviews.
  • Deliver timely weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports.
  • Provide data-driven insights on revenue trends, customer behavior, and market demand.
  • Ensure forecast accuracy and pipeline integrity.
  • Monitor churn risks and implement proactive account retention strategies.

Market Intelligence & Product Positioning

  • Conduct continuous market research within Uganda’s wholesale ecosystem.
  • Analyze competitor pricing, infrastructure footprint, and positioning strategies.
  • Advise leadership on pricing & positioning adjustments based on market dynamics.
  • Collaborate with Presales to ensure timely and competitive technical solutions.
  • Represent BCS in industry engagements and strategic forums.
