welders contribute to the successful completion of construction, manufacturing, and repair projects across various industries.

  • Reading Blueprints: Interpret and understand blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine the layout and welding requirements of the project.

  • Preparing Materials: Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, cutting, and grinding to ensure proper fit and welding. Measure and cut metal components using various tools and equipment.

  • Selecting Welding Equipment: Select the appropriate welding equipment and techniques based on the material being welded, the thickness of the metal, and the requirements of the project.

  • Welding: Perform welding operations using various techniques such as arc welding, MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding, TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding, or oxy-acetylene welding. Ensure that welds meet quality standards and specifications.

  • Inspecting Welds: Inspect welded joints and seams to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Detect and correct any defects or imperfections in the welds.

  • Maintaining Equipment: Clean, maintain, and repair welding equipment and tools to ensure they are in proper working condition. Replace worn or damaged parts as needed.

  • Following Safety Procedures: Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, helmets, and safety glasses.

  • Collaborating with Team Members: Work collaboratively with other team members, including supervisors, engineers, and other tradespeople, to complete projects efficiently and effectively.

  • Documenting Work: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including welding procedures, materials used, and hours worked. Complete required documentation and reports as necessary.

  • Diploma / certificate in welding and fabrication.

  • 3 Years hands on practical experience.
