Job Description
The Treasury Manager will report directly to the Board and serve as the face of business development and operations in Uganda. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in fintech and financial services to ensure optimal financial health, compliance with regulatory requirements, and support for business growth initiatives.
We’re hiring a Treasury Manager to contribute to our mission of transforming the financial landscape. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the company’s treasury operations, including cash management, liquidity forecasting, risk management, and financial planning. We’re looking for a strategic thinker with a strong background in fintech and financial services to ensure optimal financial health, compliance with regulatory requirements, and support for business growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with finance, operations, and executive teams to manage financial resources effectively in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage daily cash flows, including forecasting, monitoring, and optimizing liquidity to meet operational needs and investment opportunities.
- Develop and implement treasury policies, procedures, and strategies to mitigate financial risks, such as interest rate, foreign exchange, and credit risks.
- Oversee banking relationships, negotiate terms for financial services, and ensure efficient use of banking platforms and fintech tools for transactions.
- Prepare accurate financial reports, including cash position analyses, variance reports, and treasury performance metrics for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations, including anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) standards in the fintech sector.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support funding requirements, capital allocation, and investment decisions aligned with company goals.
- Identify and leverage fintech innovations, such as digital payment systems and blockchain technologies, to enhance treasury efficiency.
- Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis to support strategic planning and risk assessment.
- Mentor junior treasury staff and contribute to the development of a high- performance finance team.
