Job Description
The Technician will be responsible for implementing SLAs with service providers and supervising on-site contractors to ensure compliance. The role requires establishing and monitoring preventative maintenance programs, liaising with help desk and senior facilities personnel, conducting routine audits and inspections, and participating in budget planning for repairs and maintenance. The technician must maintain documentation, enforce health and safety standards, and ensure effective service delivery. The successful candidate will also adhere to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards and provide support for continuous improvement in service optimization.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Implement and monitor SLAs with service providers
Supervise and evaluate contractor service delivery
Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs
Conduct regular inspections and maintenance audits
Coordinate with the help desk and senior facilities managers
Organize and attend operational and client meetings
Assist in annual budgeting for capital expenditure and maintenance
Manage and control stock of spare parts and materials
Maintain and update technical documentation and service manuals
Enforce compliance with Occupational Health & Safety standards
Review and improve service delivery mechanisms
Ensure compliance with ISO SHEQ (9001, 14001, 45001) standards
Undertake any additional duties as requested by management
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Qualifications:
BSc / BTech / National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the industry
At least 1 year in a management or senior technician role
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong project and resource management abilities
Attention to detail and good organizational skills
Customer service focused with financial and business acumen
Ability to manage multiple situations under pressure
Strategic planning, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
Must have a valid driver’s license and access to own transport
