Job Description

The Electrical and Instrumentation Foreman will report to the Maintenance Manager and be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, compliance, and maintenance of all packaging machinery and related infrastructure at the Rosslyn site. This includes leading a team of electricians, instrumentation technicians, and apprentices, implementing preventive maintenance systems, managing root cause analysis for downtime, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and food safety standards. The foreman will also support shutdown planning, manage resources effectively, and ensure proper documentation and reporting via CMMS.

How to Apply

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and food safety standards (FSSC 22000, AIB, ISO).

  • Conduct daily plant inspections and manage electrical/instrumentation maintenance activities.

  • Oversee equipment reliability and participate in root cause analysis of failures.

  • Ensure efficient CMMS utilization and update job cards, maintenance plans, and reports.

  • Plan and supervise shutdowns, installations, and upgrades to plant systems.

  • Manage artisan teams, monitor performance, and coordinate skills development.

  • Maintain good housekeeping standards and GMP compliance in the workshop.

  • Coordinate procurement of critical spare parts and assist in CAPEX planning.

  • Ensure legal compliance with OHS Act requirements, labour laws, and internal policies.

  • Liaise with contractors and suppliers as needed for project execution and maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • Trade-tested Artisan (Electrician)

  • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or N6 (advantageous)

  • Continued professional development in maintenance management/engineering standards

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years post-trade test experience in FMCG or manufacturing environment

  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory/foreman role

  • Experience in snacks manufacturing and packaging machinery maintenance (advantageous)

  • Knowledge of CMMS such as SAP or Shopware (Shopware preferred)

Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team supervision skills

  • Sound understanding of instrumentation and electrical systems

  • Ability to manage projects and resources efficiently

  • Good communication, analytical, and organizational skills

  • Understanding of statutory inspection and legal compliance

Additional Requirements:

  • Own reliable transport

  • Willingness to work overtime, be on call, and available for standby duty
