Job Description
The Talent Manager will oversee the full talent lifecycle, including recruitment, career management, performance management, succession planning, and rewards. The role requires partnering with HR Centres of Excellence to design policies and tools that meet long-term business needs. The incumbent will also manage HR strategy, drive transformation initiatives, ensure compliance with labour regulations, and lead the HR team. Additional responsibilities include designing innovative workforce retention programmes, managing wellness and engagement initiatives, supporting employee relations, and ensuring accurate HR reporting and analytics through the HRIS.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Partner with HR Centres of Excellence to develop and implement HR policies, tools, and transformation initiatives.
Provide guidance on HR policy, compliance, and employment law.
Oversee onboarding, induction, offboarding, and exit processes.
Ensure compliance with BBBEE transformation and employment equity (EE) legislation.
Support, develop, and coach the HR team to deliver excellence in HR operations.
Conduct climate surveys and implement workforce retention programmes.
Lead HR strategy integration, including HR transformation, governance, analytics, and project management.
Manage performance appraisal processes and ensure performance improvement plans are implemented.
Develop and deploy integrated talent management strategies across regions.
Create and maintain a competency model and library to support business needs.
Identify high-potential talent and manage succession planning.
Support career management and employee growth through structured career conversations, mentoring, and coaching.
Plan and manage the BET Rewards programme (compensation, benefits, recognition).
Manage employee relations including labour relations, discipline, absenteeism, and transitions.
Oversee HRIS systems to ensure accurate employee data management and reporting.
Produce regular and ad hoc HR reports to inform business decisions.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education & Certifications
Relevant HR qualification (required).
Valid driver’s licence.
Experience
Proven HR management experience.
Experience in organisational development (advantageous).
Prior experience within an IT environment (advantageous).
