Job Description

Reporting to the Technical Manager – Locum, the Supply Chain Advisor will coordinate with program officers, district supply chain teams, and medical management supervisors to strengthen health commodity forecasting, quantification, ordering, storage, and distribution systems. They will oversee the effective use of Logistics Management Information Systems (LMIS), ensure data-driven decision-making, and facilitate continuous quality improvement of supply chain practices. The Advisor will also participate in regional and facility-level interventions to ensure the availability and accountability of essential medicines and commodities for HIV/TB care. In addition, the advisor will lead initiatives around stock monitoring, pharmacovigilance, training on SOPs and policies, and functionalization of Medicines and Therapeutic Committees (MTCs).

How to Apply

  • Provide technical oversight and supervision for supply chain and commodity management systems at district and facility level.

  • Work with district and facility teams to ensure accurate forecasting, quantification, ordering, and rational use of medicines.

  • Coordinate and support bi-monthly ordering through NMS CSSP from all supported facilities.

  • Compile and share weekly stock status reports and facilitate interventions to address gaps.

  • Ensure quality and utilization of LMIS data for evidence-based decision-making.

  • Support implementation and monitoring of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) approaches like CRPDDP.

  • Facilitate the reactivation and functionality of Medicines and Therapeutic Committees (MTCs).

  • Provide guidance on SOPs, national drug policies, and adherence to pharmaceutical regulations.

  • Oversee order fulfillment rate analysis, stock status reviews, and timely redistribution of medicines.

  • Participate in regional HIV drug resistance case discussions and contribute to logistics planning.

  • Ensure patient safety through pharmacovigilance support and reporting.

  • Document best practices, success stories, and prepare activity reports and logistics plans.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.

  • A postgraduate qualification in Public Health or Project Management is an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HIV/TB-related health supply chain management within donor-funded programs.

  • Proficiency in LMIS platforms such as NMS CSSP, RASS, DHIS2, SPARS, and the MOH Pharmaceutical Information Portal.

  • Experience in working with local government and willingness to work in upcountry settings.

  • Strong communication, coordination, and presentation skills.

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
