Job Description
Manage activities related to data quality, metadata management, data access, and the implementation of data governance initiatives to maintain the integrity, usability, and security of the Authority’s data assets.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide Metadata Management Support to enhance data understanding, data discovery, and improve data lineage tracking, for better data integration and utilization across the Authority.
- Supervise the collection, documentation, and maintenance of metadata in accordance with established standards.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of metadata to facilitate data understanding and usability.
- Support the implementation and utilization of metadata management tools and processes.
- Secure data access and usage control to the Authority’s data based on defined policies
- Oversee the processing of data access requests in line with data access policies and security protocols.
- Monitor data usage to ensure compliance with defined guidelines and restrictions.
- Support the implementation of data access controls and permissions.
- Operational Support for Data Governance Initiatives
- Coordinate operational tasks related to data governance projects and initiatives.
- Assist in the development and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) for data operations.
- Prepare regular reports on data operations activities and performance.
- Data Governance Policy and Procedure Implementation
- Supervise the implementation and enforcement of data governance policies, standards, and procedures within relevant business units.
- Provide guidance and support to team members and stakeholders on data governance requirements.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of data governance documentation
- Lead the Data Quality Management oversight to improve data accuracy, completeness, consistency, validity, and timeliness across the Authority’s data assets.
- Supervise the execution of data quality monitoring processes and identify data quality issues.
- Coordinate the investigation and resolution of data quality discrepancies, working with relevant data owners and stewards.
- Monitor adherence to data quality standards and contribute to the development of new or improved standards.
- Oversee the implementation of data cleansing and enrichment activities.
- Plan and manage the performance and development of staff under supervision so as to improve their productivity
- Budget for resource requirements in the business Unit.
- Develop performance agreements with all the staff under supervision.
- Monitor staff performance and provide guidance and periodic feedback for performance improvement.
- Assess the training and development needs of staff under supervision and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Provide coaching and mentoring support to staff under jurisdiction.
- Initiate and implement activities/programs intended to create and harness teamwork in the business Unit.
- Implement succession planning and any other staff related programs as introduced and approved in the organization.
- Create and maintain a working atmosphere that fosters creativity and innovation in the team.
