Job Description
Job Title: Supervisor -Agric. Engineering

Duty Station: Jinja, Uganda
To ensure proper planning of roads and drainage works in the section and to efficiently supervise and work on both the roads and drainage in Outgrowers area for purposes of improving the road network for Outgrowers farmers to enable safe cane delivery to the mill.

How to Apply
Preparing and supervising land preparation activities and road construction activities in the Outgrowers area under the Outgrowers scheme.
Ensuring good quality of land preparation activities and proper construction of main feeder roads as well as the tract network and bridges.
Ensuring proper and regular maintenance of roads with adequate drainage and appropriate cambering and using good quality marram
Checking the attendance and punctuality of subordinate staff and taking appropriate disciplinary action.
Ensuring that the machinery and equipment are correctly set and aligned for particular functions to achieve efficiency and productivity.
Locating and establishing good quality marram quarried and ensuring proper excavation
Ensuring that road construction and earth moving machinery are sent to the main workshop for scheduled preventive maintenance.
Liaising with Satellite workshop for rescuing section machinery and equipment in case of breakdown
Monitoring fuel usage and consumption to control /prevent possible abuse
Keeping and maintaining daily record of activities in the section
Carrying out on job training to enhance skill building capacity
Preparing and submitting routine reports to the Dty Outgrowers Manager for regular updates.
Education: Bachelors in Mechanical / Agricultural Engineering from a recognised Agricultural Institute
Experience, Skills and Competences:
Experience of three (03) years in managing and maintenance of Agricultural machinery and equipment. supervisory skills will be an added advantage.
