How to Apply
Responsible for starting and stopping of mills in quick time by following safe procedures. Make sure right amount of imbibition water is applied with right temperature.
Report to the shift engineer in case of abnormalities found in any of running equipment.
Scrutinise the predecessor’s handover report to obtain information on the condition of the plant and make a quick physical inspection of the equipment with help of mill supervisor.
In absence of mill supervisor, perform mill supervisor duties as and when required.
Assign and direct staff to specific job tasks, supervise their performance and provide necessary technical guidance and advice during shutdown and planned stoppages.
In liaison with the shift operators, monitor and ensure SHE compliance.
Continuously monitor the operational behaviour of the plant to detect failure warning signs and take preventive measures.
Maintain subordinate staff discipline and attend their personal and occupational grievances.
Directly supervise plant overhauling during shutdowns and off-crop periods.
Prepare shift handover reports covering all aspects of the operation and maintain operational logbooks.
Perform such other duties as may be assigned or delegated by the shift engineer from time to time.
Education:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering/Bachelor of Engineering & Manufacturing Engineering or its equivalent or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Institution.
Experience, Skills and Competences:
A minimum of two (02) years’ experience for Degree holders and five (05) years for Diploma Holders in related field.
Experience in handling of shift workers is an added advantage.
Good supervisory skills, good communication and interpersonal skills.
