Job Description
Job Title: Supervisor – Domestic
Department/Programme: Sugar Factory
Section/Project: Electrical
Reports To: Superintendent – Electrical
Supervises: Electrician – Domestic
Overall Purpose of the Job
The Supervisor – Domestic is responsible for overseeing electrical repairs and maintenance of all estate residential properties. The role ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of domestic electrical systems through effective supervision, planning, and coordination of maintenance activities.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Coordinate and arrange necessary fabrications as directed by management.
Plan and implement electrical wiring for newly constructed residential houses.
Conduct testing on overhead domestic service line equipment and related apparatus to ensure functionality and safety.
Review incoming job orders, identify material requirements, and prepare requisitions for approval by the Electrical Superintendent.
Supervise and monitor the performance of subordinate staff to ensure tasks are completed effectively and efficiently.
Address and resolve work-related complaints or grievances raised by subordinates to foster a positive and productive work environment.
Deliver on-the-job training to team members, particularly in the use of new technologies and in promoting safety awareness.
Prepare and submit accurate periodic reports detailing maintenance activities and progress to the Overhead and Domestic Superintendent.
Ensure full compliance with company safety, health, and environmental policies in all assigned tasks and operations.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
A Diploma in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution is required.
A certificate in Supervisory Management is considered an added advantage.
Experience, Skills, and Competencies
At least five years of hands-on experience as an electrical technician.
In-depth knowledge of electrical power safety regulations, power handling practices, and first aid procedures for electrical incidents.
Proficiency in technical maintenance procedures and the ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
Strong supervisory, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and develop a team effectively.
