Job Description

Resident in Lagos with frequent offshore trips, the role prepares subsea intervention work packages (IWPs) and procedures, supports CCR operations, develops SIMOPS/JRA/PTW inputs, and monitors subsea control systems to anticipate failures. Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, managing control fluid (HW460R) consumption/leaks, supporting commissioning/start-up of new wells, supervising OIMR vessel activities from the FPSO, maintaining anomaly/punch lists and status sheets, ensuring critical spares availability per MRP, training operators, and liaising with SPS contractors and site reps for repairs/testing. The engineer issues daily site reports, participates in weekly subsea meetings, and contributes to subsea integrity databases and flow assurance support.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Prepare/coordinate IWPs and procedures for subsea repair and intervention operations.

  • Support CCR on subsea switches, IWC valve ops; provide first-level technical assistance to FPSO teams.

  • Develop/participate in SIMOPS procedures; prepare JRAs and PTW for subsea work.

  • Monitor subsea control system performance daily; anticipate failures and implement mitigations.

  • Track HW460R control fluid usage; identify and resolve leaks.

  • Troubleshoot equipment failures; issue investigation reports and close actions.

  • Support offshore ops for trees, manifolds, and topsides (HPU, SCU, SPCU).

  • Commission new wells; perform well leak tests per CR EP FP 422 and keep WIMT updated.

  • Issue daily subsea activity reports; attend weekly subsea meetings.

  • Ensure critical spares are stocked per MRP; keep third-party devices (MPFM, ASD, downhole gauges, CITVs) operational.

  • Supervise OIMR vessel activities from the FPSO during interventions.

  • Maintain DGS, standing instructions, and derogations; curate anomaly database and punch-list closures.

  • Publish weekly subsea equipment status sheets; develop subsea integrity database with maintenance team.

  • Train EGINA production operators on subsea operations/interventions.

  • Liaise with SPS company site reps for technical subjects, repairs, and testing at contractor yards.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

  • 5+ years’ DW oil & gas experience covering SPS, subsea controls, interventions, and well commissioning.

  • Strong technical mindset; high workload capacity; autonomous and organized.

  • Software: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, PI ProcessBook.

  • Soft skills: problem-solving, adaptability, analytical ability, cross-functional collaboration.

  • Fluent English.
