Job Description
The Site Manager will oversee the execution of site construction requirements for a high voltage substation project in Kampala. This includes managing engineering implementation, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards, supervising equipment installation, preparing documentation, and supporting audits and project planning. The role requires collaboration with both internal teams and external partners, reporting directly to the Project Manager.

How to Apply
Manage all site construction activities for the project
Implement engineering work per specifications and drawings
Ensure compliance with OHS Act 85 of 1993, ISO 18001, and ISO 14001
Develop and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers
Coordinate commissioning activities with staff, subcontractors, and the client
Compile Data Books, Quality Control Plans (QCPs), and handover documents
Assist in internal and external audits and quality reporting
Supervise erection of High Voltage AIS switchgear, protection and control systems
Coordinate subcontractor activities and ensure efficient execution
Optimize project costs through proper planning and coordination
Maintain detailed site diaries and report all events to the Project Manager
Assist with project scheduling and resource planning
Supervise contractors to ensure adherence to Siemens' standards
Monitor site health, safety, and environmental conditions
Train new team members and partners on-site
Receive and inspect high voltage equipment delivered to site

Academic Qualifications:
Minimum: National Diploma in Engineering
Preferred: Training in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 18001
Professional Training:
Health and safety certifications (HIRA, First Aid, Fire Fighting)
HV regulations training (recommended)
Skills and Competencies:
Strong computer literacy (Windows, MS Office, MS Project)
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Ability to work with multicultural teams across various locations
Experience:
Minimum 10 years in project management and site supervision
At least 5–10 years in high voltage substation installation (132kV, up to 400kV is advantageous)
Extensive knowledge in construction, installation, and commissioning of high voltage substations
Experience with civil works and compliance with corporate regulations and OHS standards
