Avanti Energy Services Limited (Avanti) is a Ugandan national company, which engages in providing services to the upstream oil and gas production industry within Uganda. Avanti is currently sourcing for two highly technical positions. If you are an experienced professional who possesses major project experience in these positions below, then we are looking for YOU!

  • Inspection Planning: Develop inspection plans and schedules based on equipment criticality, regulatory requirements, and risk assessment methodologies. Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely execution of inspections.

  • Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards, failure modes, and vulnerabilities associated with equipment, facilities, or infrastructure. Use risk analysis techniques to prioritize inspection activities and allocate resources effectively.

  • Inspection Execution: Oversee the execution of inspections, either through in-house inspection teams or third-party contractors. Ensure that inspections are conducted according to established procedures, standards, and specifications.

  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect inspection data, including visual observations, measurements, and test results, using various inspection techniques and tools. Analyze inspection findings to assess the condition of assets, identify defects or deficiencies, and determine maintenance priorities.

  • Defect Assessment: Evaluate inspection findings to determine the severity of defects, their potential impact on asset integrity, and the appropriate corrective actions required. Provide recommendations for repair, replacement, or mitigation measures as needed.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that inspection activities comply with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices. Keep abreast of changes in regulations and standards relevant to inspection practices and implement necessary updates.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inspection activities, including inspection reports, data sheets, photographs, and certification documents. Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing inspection findings, conclusions, and recommendations for management review.

  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance measures to verify the accuracy and reliability of inspection data and reports. Conduct audits or reviews of inspection procedures, documentation, and personnel qualifications to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Training and Development: Provide training and mentorship to junior inspection staff, sharing expertise in inspection techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols. Support the professional development of team members through coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, or efficiency gains in inspection activities. Initiate and lead initiatives to optimize inspection processes, enhance data management systems, or adopt new technologies.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, maintenance, engineering, and safety teams, to coordinate inspection activities and address asset integrity issues. Liaise with external stakeholders, such as regulatory agencies, clients, vendors, and contractors, as necessary.

  • Project Management: Manage inspection projects from initiation to completion, including budgeting, resource allocation, scheduling, and progress tracking. Ensure that project objectives are met within established timelines and budget constraints.

  • BSc. In Engineering


Qualifications:

  • 10 years inspection services experience in the oil and gas industry.

  • Candidates must possess lifting inspection certificates such as LEEA and NSL

  • NDT (Min. ASNT level II) and DS-1 certifications are mandatory and must be valid

  • In-depth understanding of inspection and technical reporting.


Additional requirements:

  • Ability to work with diverse nationalities

  • Internal corrosion control management

  • Good communication and writing skills in English language

  • Enhanced oil recovery knowledge and application

  • Willingness to travel to field and remote locations

  • Must be ready to work independently

  • Must be a good team player

  • Ability to train and mentor trainee inspection engineers.

  • Oilfield production chemistry knowledge and application
