Introduction
Trade for Jobs Uganda is a five-year initiative (2025–2030) jointly led by the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the International Trade Centre (ITC), funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
Using a market systems approach, the project aims to leverage trade as a driver of decent job creation and income generation for women and men living in poverty in Uganda, by focusing on two high-potential sectors:
Dairy
Tourism
Project Objectives
Strengthen regional and global trade in dairy products and tourism services, focusing on micro-enterprises and SMEs
Support private sector development for MSMEs, including value addition, diversification, competitiveness, and improving the business environment

The project adopts a sustainable market systems approach, with an emphasis on analysis, partner engagement, and evidence-based adaptation.
